How to find if an offer is a scam
By Hamada Agha
Every now and then I receive emails from friends asking me to look into an offer they received by email on how to make more money online. Surprisingly, the money the email promises people to make is usually more than their weekly checks in a single day. No matter how much people are warned, there will always be a new sucker born everyday. Scamming has been a thriving business on the internet since the early 90's, and as long as there are suckers willing and waiting to be preyed on, the scamming techniques become more creative with a newer twist. Even in these poor and bad economic conditions, people are always willing to pitch those extra dollars for get quick rich schemes, yet will not spend that same amount of money on better educating themselves in local colleges. But the final results are too embarrassing for the victim to talk about and another feasting day for the scam artist. Rather than confronting the scam, the victim just hides and hopes for a better luck on the next venture. The scam artists know very well about this weak human behavior and go about hunting other weak preys. Should the victim request a refund, which is estimated to be less than 3%, the scam artist will refund without hesitation, since such low refund percentage will not hurt the business model. The best method to avoid being scammed is to follow your instincts and common sense. Ask yourself, if there was so much money to be made that way, why is this program not currently hiring regular employees to generate that revenue directly to the owner? How come is the seller not spending more time on milking the program in person and instead is concentrating on selling the infomercial? If you still have some doubts and still have the urge to plunge into that get rich scheme because you can see the idea, do yourself a favor and do the simple task that will save you money and you can thank me later. follow these simple steps and you will be glad you did. 1. Go to google.com 2. Enter the name of the program that is being offered 3. Add "scam" next to the name of the program that will be searched 4. Click on search 5. Do not read anything that says "Reviews" but rather search just for other people like yourself asking if this is a scam or not. You will be surprised to see how many people either are asking the same question, or people who were so angry at themselves and are warning other people not to waste their money. Do you get the picture now? So stop wasting your money and start saving them or use them wisely to better your life and education. Oh you can thank me later.

There are many scams out there - it pays to do your homework! Some friends of mine in their 80s have been scammed and thought they would make tons of money, but sadly they lost their investment. I wish there were stricter rules in place for prosecuting these folks then they might think twice. I have reported several to the Federal Trade Commission who will follow up on your complaints.
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
You are right, it just never ceases to amaze me how many people have been ripped off and you hear it day in day out, and there is always a new flood of people who want to be scammed. The reason is simple though, Greed is the main problem. Most people today want to achieve financial independence at somebody's else expense. And for the system to work, one group, the scam artist, is better equipped to make it than the naive prey. This is fact of life, sad but true. Hence you have a winner and a loser.
